Melanie Howard was a co-founder in 1996 and is now chair of the Future Foundation, an independent global trends and insight consultancy that helps clients identify emerging market opportunities in order to innovate more effectively and reduce risk. She has devised and run over 200 futures projects including a seminal study on the 24-hour society, scenarios for the future of advertising and a consortium on the future of entertainment.
Passionate about the value of applied insight to organisations of all sizes and sectors, she lectures on futures thinking as a Visiting Business Fellow at the Royal College of Art and as a visiting Professor at Henley Business School.
She is a non-executive director of The Communications Agency and a Trustee of the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation which works to increase levels of physical activity amongst women and girls, as well as being a lay member of the Information Rights Tribunal for the Justice Department.
